The kitchen has become the most important part of the home. We no longer think of the room as being only the place where food is prepared and cooked it has become living space, a social event, a place to eat, a family room, a homework area, a party room, and of course we still need to prepare and cook. Our design consultation is free of charge.
In a new home or a re-modelled structure a kitchen/bedroom/study design should be sought at the early stages of a project even if only architects plans are available. This may save costs as enabling works for plumbing and electrics are best performed once.
As a company we specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke kitchen furniture we have vast experience of functional design but to have the perfect kitchen our clients input is essential. Colours, styles and textures are very personal. We find it best to advise what will or will not work but the actual specification and design lay-out is ultimately our clients work.
The Design Consultation will last a couple of hours. Our designer will measure the room and plot the dimensions onto a scale plan. Our portfolio of projects can be viewed but most important of all is the collection of information. Who will use the room? Why a new kitchen? What is wrong with existing layout? Style & design preferences? What is the budget? Colours, textures? Modern, traditional, contemporary, classic or a combination?
Clients own goals range from “I must have granite” to “can you match the colour of an existing wall tile” We suggest our clients have five main goals which might include an American fridge freezer or the importance to have a flat screen television mounted on the wall. Whatever the initial goals are it is our aim to achieve and incorporate them within the final installation and budget.
Working to a budget is priority. Spending too little may not achieve the desired effect. Spending too much is worse! We want our clients to have Value for Money. Our 76% recommendation rate has been achieved by delivering and installing our clients dreams at a cost that could have been far more.
Each kitchen and project is as individual as our clients. Function and Beauty need not be separate ideals and whilst most clients want the “wow” factor the positioning and specification of all items in a design is just as important to the future operation of the room. Time allowing, our designer will provide a provisional design plan along with a ballpark estimate. Heavy sales techniques are not required as our product, attention to detail and competitive placing in the market place generally gain our clients confidence.

At Marcus Paul we are fortunate to have our own production facility. Our factory is dedicated to wood machinery, cabinet making and finishing. Each project is different and generally materials are purchased to individual requirements. We hold stocks of most timbers and boards as we prefer to manage moisture contents and material quality ourselves. Our clients can select for example the amount of defect required for an English Character Oak kitchen or the sheen level on the finish of the frontage.
Maximum attention is given to the handmade detail of our furniture and with the ability to perform the most complex of structures with traditional machinery “We Can’t do” is not within our normal vocabulary.
Our own vehicles are used for delivery and whilst sometimes we need to hire a larger capacity lorry we still have our own delivery driver specialist. We always aim to have a project manufactured in plenty of time. However we have ample storage at our factory as we understand that not all projects can begin installation on scheduled dates owing to outside endeavours. We normally ask our clients to advise soonest if for example their own builder is running over on the enabling works. We will work together with all concerned to give flexibility for when our installer arrives on site.
Experience has shown that using our own installers is consummate to the overall project. Our fitters are committed to our product and the final experience. As a company we have a large public liability insurance cover and only sub contract to professionals with Part P electrical qualifications and where gas is concerned gas safe. Many of our clients often have builders involved and much of the enabling works may have been organised before our arrival. We are able to offer a complete start to finish package or just the delivery and installation of perhaps the kitchen furniture. On a new build property we offer a Dry Fit package as generally a builders insurance cover maintains that connections of plumbing and electrics is done by the main contractor.
Our design consultation is typically offered free of charge. Once we have been chosen and to commission Marcus Paul we ask for a £500.00 holding deposit. This will initiate our site survey measure and production of elevation drawings. Ten weeks prior to proposed installation we request a 30% part payment (less the £500.00 already paid). On delivery of our furniture to site we will require a 60% payment. This leaves a 10% balance to be paid on satisfactory completion.
Our ethos has always promised to perform to the best of our ability from the initial contact to the after sales care of all projects we undertake. As part of our dedication to our job we will always endeavour to carry out the design through to installation process with the least possible disruption.
Our aim is to maintain our high level of recommendation and referral and to this end will not walk away from problems even after installation. We are continually improving the specification of our manufactured product. Through some research and development with our suppliers and our clients response we do not recommend lightly our sources of appliances and third party supplied products. These are guaranteed by the original source but please telephone us to advise of their service and co-operation.
We would like to add a thank you to all our clients past and present. It is sometimes easy to get carried away with the next project especially those that get installed without a hitch.
